It’s a Royal Randwick Carnivale for the third and final day of the Tooheys New Royal Randwick Carnival - Saturday 3 May 2008!

Schweppes Sydney Cup Day boasts Carnivale themed trackside entertainment along with a sensational line up of racing and fashion. Featuring four Group 1 races with over $2.4 million in prize money on offer, Schweppes Sydney Cup Day annually attracts the finest names in racing and is a fitting end to the 2008 Royal Randwick Carnival- a finale no princess should miss!

Racing
First run in 1866, winners of the Schweppes Sydney Cup include famous stayers such as Carbine, Reckless, Gailee, Kingston Town, Tie The Knot and Makybe Diva. This year the stakes are high with the field competing for $700,000 in prize money this highly anticipate race is not to be missed.

Other spectacular Group 1 races on the day include the $500,000 Queen Elizabeth Stakes, the $450,000 Champagne Stakes and the $400,000 All Aged Stakes.
