Inglis Easter Saturday

Saturday, 22 March - Royal Randwick

The princesses are making a return to Randwick for Inglis Easter Saturday, featuring the Inglis Galaxy and Chipping Norton Stakes, the opening event on Randwick's Easter Racing calendar. Today the stars of the turf will be out in force and racing for honours in some of the most prestigious events to kick start Randwick's autumn racing campaign.

Typically run over two days this year's event has been condensed into one action packed day with an outstanding line up of five Group races and over $1 million in prize money.

The feature race on the day will be the Group 1 $350,000 Inglis Galaxy run over 1100 metres. This race has grown in stature to be one of the premier sprints conducted in New South Wales.

The Group 1 $300,000 Chipping Norton Stakes is the other main feature on the day. The day will boast entertainment for kids and adults alike, with popular bands in the member's area and on the public lawns, a visit from the Easter Bunny and Cadbury chocolate giveaways.

Easter Monday Racing

Royal Randwick Guineas Day

Saturday, 29 March - Royal Randwick

Hats and High Tea will be on the menu for the princesses at this year's Royal Randwick Guineas Day, with all ladies wearing a hat receiving a complimentary princess cupcake. This year's Royal Randwick Guineas Day features seven Group and Listed races prize money of over $1million on offer.

The feature race of the day is the Group 1 $500,000 Royal Randwick Guineas. The Guineas has been won by some top class performers including Todman (1957), Broker's Tip (1968), Mr McGinty (1983) and Octagonal (1996). The first horse to win the inaugural Royal Randwick Guineas in 2006 was Hotel Grand and last year’s winner was the John Hawkes trained Mentality.

With cupcake stands and tea available on course everyone can enjoy the spoils of Hats and High Tea and receive the royal treatment this Guineas Day.

Emirates Doncaster Day featuring the David Jones Australian Derby

Saturday, 26 April - Royal Randwick

Emirates Doncaster Day featuring the David Jones Australian Derby is the premier race day event launching the 2008 Royal Randwick Carnival. Don your finest black and white attire and have your form guides ready for this highly anticipated event. Boasting four Group 1 races including the David Jones Australian Derby and the Emirates Doncaster this event will bring the crème of racing royalty together to compete for over $5 million in prize money.

The $1.8million David Jones Australian Derby is the top ranked event for 3-year-olds by the Australian and New Zealand race classifications and is a race not to be missed. Other races of note include the Group 1 $500,000 T.J Smith Stakes and the Group 1 AJC $1,800,000 Inglis Sires’ Produce Stakes, the second leg of the two year old Grand Slam.

Royal Randwick Fashions on the Field commences today. Both princesses and princes will be on show, displaying the elegance of race wear fashions as they compete for Best Dressed Lady and Best Dressed Gentleman.

For the best view on course, reserved grandstand seating tickets for the St Leger stand are available from Ticketek. A limited amount of seats are available which offer a birds-eye view of the racing action, as well as easy access to TAB, food and bar facilities.

JPMorgan Australian Oaks Day

Wednesday, 30 April - Royal Randwick

A carnival tradition that will never grow old, JPMorgan Australian Oaks day is renowned for being Ladies Day.

Today all ladies receive free entry to the course so gather your girlfriends and don your best frocks for a day filled with fashion, fun and great racing.

The Group 1 JPMorgan Australian Oaks has seen some of the greatest ever three-year-old fillies Leilani, Flight and Surround all etching their names into racing history. This year is set to be no exception with a highly anticipated line up and $500,000 in prize money on offer.

Schweppes Sydney Cup Day

Saturday, 3 May - Royal Randwick

Schweppes Sydney Cup Day boasts carnivale themed trackside entertainment along with a sensational line up of racing and fashion. Featuring four Group 1 races with over $2.4 million in prize money on offer, Schweppes Sydney Cup Day attracts the finest names in racing and is a fitting end to the 2008 Royal Randwick Carnival - a finale no prince or princess should miss!

First run in 1866, winners of the Schweppes Sydney Cup include famous stayers such as Carbine, Reckless, Gailee, Kingston Town, Tie The Knot and Makybe Diva. This year the stakes are high with the field competing for $700,000 in prize money.

Other spectacular Group 1 races on the day include the $500,000 Queen Elizabeth Stakes, the $450,000 Champagne Stakes and the $400,000 All Aged Stakes.
