Inglis Autumn Yearling Sale Begins Sunday Thursday, 08 May 2008
The William Inglis Autumn Yearling Sale, the source of some of Australia's best value Group 1 winners in recent times, has a quality catalogue of 360 yearlings to be sold over two days, beginning this Sunday, May 11.
Pompeii Ruler, Lazer Sharp and Grand Journey – all Group 1 winners – have earned a combined $2.8million between them over the past few seasons, but each could have been purchased from the Autumn Yearling Sale for less than $20,000.
“Year after year this sale produces quality gallopers that were purchased well within the budgets of most owners,” Inglis Director Peter Heagney said.
“I have no doubt that will also ring true for graduates of this year's Autumn Yearling Sale.”
There is also extra incentive for buyers this year. All graduates of this year's sale are eligible for a $100,000 2YO race to be run in Melbourne's autumn next year, restricted to graduates of this sale.
Furthermore, those paid up to run in that race are also eligible for William Inglis' $2.5million race series of Graduate only races and metropolitan, provincial and country bonuses throughout Victoria, ACT and NSW.
This year's catalogue features progeny by a good number of Australia's leading sires, including progeny of first season stallions like Danbird (7), Delzao (6), Denon (7), Elvstroem (3), Kempinsky (3) and Refuse To Bend (4).
The opening session begins on Sunday from 11am, with the second and concluding session beginning at the same time on Monday. The Great Southern Sale will follow on Thursday commencing with weanlings (May 15 & 16) and concluding with General Bloodstock on May 18 and 19.
