Gosford MYER Ladies Day and Women in Racing Wednesday, 30 April 2008
Fashions, fragrances and racing will be centre stage at Gosford Racecourse tonight when Gosford Racing launches Gosford’s Women in Racing in the lead up to this Sundays MYER Ladies Day. Supported by MYER Erina and Dior, over 100 female members, trainers and Central Coast personalities will be on hand to recognise the important role that women have in racing, as well as celebrating the influence of fashion on Australian racing.
Gosford Racing CEO, Tony O'Mara said, “tonight is the first step in growing the participation of women in our club whilst recognising the integral role that women have and contribution they make to thoroughbred racing. Racing and race club membership has traditionally been seen as a male domain and we are keen to make sure that we adequately cater for both sexes and in particular grow the profile of women in racing at Gosford.
With 52% of the population of the Central Coast female it is essential that as a service provider that we become more female friendly if racing is to remain relevant in the competitive entertainment market.”
