How to Place a Bet in a TAB Outlet

How to fill out a ticket - WIN & PLACE

Step 1 Mark the Race Venue allocated for the meeting. During the Autumn Racing Carnival the key races will be in S (Syd).

Step 2 Mark the race Type.
R for Thoroughbred racing, G for Greyhound racing and H for Harness racing.

Step 3 Select the Race Number.

Step 4 Mark how much you want to spend. For an Each Way (your selections to Win and Place) bet, you need to mark a spend amount in both WIN and PLACE. e.g. $5 each way for a total spend of $10.

Step 5

Mark the corresponding number of your selected runner(s) in Selections box, e.g. 6.

You can choose as many as you like, but the more runners you select the more the bet will cost. The cost of your Each Way bet will be the number of runners x the total investment. For example - 3 runners for $5 Win and $5 Place will cost $30.

How to fill out a ticket - TRIFECTA

Step 1 Mark the Race Venue allocated for the meeting. During the Autumn Racing Carnival the key races will be in S (Syd).

Step 2 Mark the race Type.
R for Thoroughbred racing, G for Greyhound racing and H for Harness racing.

Step 3 Select the Race Number.

Step 4 Mark how much you want to spend. The amount you mark on your betting card will be the exact amount that your bet costs, no matter how many selections you include. The amount you choose to spend is automatically calculated to give you a bet percentage. You will then receive this same percentage of the Trifecta dividend if your bet is successful.

If you want a Standard Trifecta then mark your spend and then mark the 100% Div box. The total cost of a Standard Trifecta is based on the number of selections you make.

Step 5

Make 1 or more Selections in each selection box.

For example 1st Selections - 3, 2nd Selections - 5, 3rd Selections - 8. With this combination you are wagering that the finishing order of the race will be 3, 5 and 8 in that order.

You can make as many Selections as you like, however the % of the Trifecta dividend you will receive will decrease with the more selections you have in your bet.

Place a Bet

All the bets you can place this Autumn Racing Carnival

Win

The most popular bet you can have. Simply pick the runner that you think will finish 1st in a race.

Place

Pick a runner in a race and if your runner finishes 1st, 2nd or 3rd you will collect your place dividend. (A 3rd place dividend is only paid in races with eight or more runners).

Each Way

An Each Way bet combines the Win and Place bets. If your runner wins, you will collect both a Win and Place dividend or if your runner finishes 2nd or 3rd you will collect the Place dividend only.

Quinella

To win the Quinella you are required to correctly select the two runners that finish 1st and 2nd in a race, in any order.

Trifecta

The Trifecta requires you to select the runners that will finish 1st, 2nd and 3rd in a race, in the correct finishing order.

First 4

The First 4 requires you to select the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th placegetters in the exact order. The First4 will jackpot if it is not won, creating the potential for bigger dividends.

Quaddie

To win the Quaddie you need to correctly pick the winners of four nominated TAB races.

Flexi Betting

Flexi Betting allows you to take a Trifecta, First 4 or Quaddie at an outlay to suit your pocket – so you can have multiple selections without being restricted by your budget! All you need to do is decide on your selections and the total amount you wish to spend on your bet. Your bet will cost whatever you choose – and if you win, you will receive a percentage of the full dividend. For example, let’s say you want to box five runners in a Trifecta. This would normally cost $60 for a $1 investment. If you decide you want to spend $15, that’s all it will cost. $15 represents 25% of $60, which means if you win, you will receive 25% of the full Trifecta dividend. So if the winning Trifecta dividend is $200, you’ll collect $50. It’s that easy!

Daily Double

The Daily Double requires you to correctly pick the winners of two TAB nominated races.

Running Double

The Running Double requires you to correctly select the winners of two consecutive races at the one race meeting e.g. Race 2 winner and Race 3 winner.

Exacta

An Exacta requires you to correctly select the two runners that finish 1st and 2nd in a race in the correct order.

Duet

The Duet requires you to correctly select 2 of the 3 placegetters in any order and is only available on races that have eight or more runners. The Duet will pay three dividends for the following combinations: 1st and 2nd, 1st and 3rd, and 2nd and 3rd.

Mystery Bet

The easiest way to have a bet. Mystery Bets are available on the next race to run, and on the feature race of the day. Mystery Bets are computer generated selections and are available in a: - $1 Single Trifecta - $2 Single Quinella - $3 Box Trifecta (50 cent investment) - $3 3-Up (Win, Exacta and Trifecta in the one bet)
