Bathurst Soldiers Saddle Raceday Friday, April 25, 2008
The biggest day of racing in Bathurst.
There’s plenty of entertainment, kids food and soft drinks free and a free Monster Raffle for the kids and Marquee sites are available inside the course proper.
Normal entry price is $15.00 for Soldiers Saddle and R.S.L. Members can gain entry for only $5.00 on production of their membership badge.
Fashion on the Field categories are for Best Dressed Lady, Best Dressed Gent, Best Hat and Best Contemporary Lady.
Marquees are self catered for food this year and the majority are having an Aussie bar-b-que. Site fees are only $110.00 and marquee holders can either hire a marquee through the club or bring their own marquee.
The Bald and The Beautiful are a dynamic singing duo comprising Gabby Middleton & Don Pansini who absolutely sang up a storm at our Ladies Day in February and are back at the track following strong demand from race goers.
A $15,000 prelude to the Soldiers Saddle (Rating 72 for $25,000)conducted at Orange on Friday 11.04.08 during the club’s Colour City Cup Race Day saw a maximum field of 14 starters line up and the saddle to be conducted over a the 1400M is expected to draw a tremendous field. The prelude was won by the Marc Connors trained Western Beau from the locally trained duo of Nampara Bullet and Life’s Too Short. Western Beau, a six year old gelding, which has been plagued by injury experienced his first win since his 3yr old season during which he won the Canberra Guineas.
